Burn Fellowship Opportunity – 2025-2026 Academic Year
Department of Plastic Surgery, Nassau University Medical Center
The Department of Plastic Surgery at Nassau University Medical Center is seeking a Burn Fellow for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a non-ACGME accredited fellowship in burn surgery and complex wound healing management at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
About the Program
The Nassau County Firefighters Burn Center serves a catchment area of 3 million people. Established in 1984, this fellowship offers a unique and intensive training opportunity within a large, diverse plastic surgical group. The fellow will gain expertise in:
Acute burn care and critical care patient management
Advanced burn and wound reconstruction
Complex wound care techniques
Hyperbaric medicine
Additionally, the fellow will have the opportunity to interact with the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency training program, mentoring medical students and junior residents across multiple disciplines.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated candidate seeking autonomy and a unique experience blending acute burn care with plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Requirements
Prerequisites
Preferred: American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery eligible/certified
Required: Minimum of two years of residency with critical care experience
Licensure: A full New York State medical license is required by the start date (not at the time of application)
