Banner - University Medicine Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Center is actively seeking a board-certified metabolic and bariatric surgeon who is looking to join our MBSAQIP nationally accredited program. The practice, established in 2015, cares for a high volume of adults and adolescents with obesity and is focused on both medical and surgical clinical expertise in high acuity patients, resident and medical student training and research. This is an excellent career opportunity for a surgeon who is passionate about the treatment of obesity to work in the heart of Phoenix and the hub of academic medicine.

Successful Applicants Must:
- Demonstrate an engaging and passionate commitment to the excellent care of the patient from both a medical and surgical standpoint
- Have completed a fellowship in minimally invasive metabolic and bariatric surgery at an accredited program
- Completed a 5yr general surgery residency program
- BC/BE with plans to obtain ABOM certification within 2 years of starting.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of AZ
- DEA license with current prescribing privileges
- Have experience in surgical education and be willing to train residents and fellows
- Have published peer reviewed journal articles and participated in research protocols
- Be willing to care for adolescent and adult patients
- Experience with interventional endoscopy
Practice Details:
- Full-time (Clinic 2.5 days, 2 days OR, .5 admin)
- Participate in Bariatric Surgery Practice and Hospital Call (Call: 1 in 3 weekends + 1-2 days weekdays per week)
- Well-established high-volume practice with high acuity patients in educational setting.
- Looking to expand volume further and develop the obesity medicine side.
- Supportive team that is invested in each other’s success and the growth of the obesity medicine and bariatric surgery program.

- Primary: Banner - University Medicine Obesity and Bariatric Surgery Center 1441 N. 12th Street 2nd floor Phoenix, AZ 85006
- Secondary: Banner Health Center plus 4200 E. Camelback Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85018
- Surgeries: Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix, 1111 East McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006
