Description
Maine Veterinary Medical Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Surgery Technician Supervisor to our team. The target schedule for this role would be Tuesday through Friday with the availability to be flexible on a week to week basis.Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a helical 16-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC has well-staffed departments in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, O phthalmology, Rehab and Acupuncture and great team of emergency clinicians and criticalists to offer advanced services to a well-educated client base.
Specialty Clinical Supervisor - Surgery

The salary range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour and is eligible for an incentive bonus of up to $5,000 based on experience, licensure, and availability.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Demonstrate solid veterinary clinical skills and be a role model for the team
- Prepare patients for specialty treatments and diagnostics in assigned specialty departments and assist the relevant doctors
- Facilitate direct or indirect training to department staff. Provide routine assessment of skill level and knowledge
- Monitor patients undergoing treatments, diagnostics and post-op recovery.
- Perform routine and advanced treatments and procedures
- Provide support and trouble shooting to assigned support staff, including but not limited to shift scheduling, assisting in hiring and ongoing mentoring
- Keep patient families updated with medical and financial status

REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital required; prior specialty experience a bonus
- Current Maine Veterinary Technician License or the ability to obtain one desired
- Prior supervisory or management experience in the veterinary industry
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong Clinical skills, including excellent anesthesia experience
- Detail-oriented and well organized
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Self-motivated
- Team-oriented
