We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Complex General Surgical Oncologist specializing in hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) and melanoma/soft tissue sarcoma oncologic surgery for a clinical track faculty position at the University of Michigan. The successful candidate will join the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Michigan, with a clinical practice based at Munson Healthcare in Traverse City, Michigan.
The Division of Surgical Oncology is a collaborative, dynamic team providing cutting-edge care for patients with malignant and complex benign conditions. The Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan, established in 1850, is internationally recognized for excellence in patient care, research, and education. Our Department collaborates closely with the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center renowned as a leader in clinical cancer care and research. Munson Medical Center in Traverse City is Munson’s largest 450-bed tertiary care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center. Traverse City, on the shores of Grand Traverse Bay, offers a four-season lifestyle with access to outdoor activities and a strong sense of community. As part of the Munson Healthcare Regional Cancer Network, the Cowell Family Cancer Center in Traverse City is transforming care in Northern Michigan. Services include Radiation Oncology, Hematology Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, chemotherapy, therapeutic infusions, radioligand infusion, and bi-specific T-cell engager therapy. The cancer center serves as the hub to six regional infusion and medical oncology clinics within Northern Michigan. Work closely with our General Surgery and Trauma team—13 surgeons, including 3 dedicated to trauma—in a collaborative environment that supports your practice and fosters a strong work-family culture.
This recruitment is for a surgeon with a clinical interest and experience in complex general surgical oncology, including disease of the pancreas, liver, GI tract, and melanoma/soft tissue sarcoma. Requirements include completion of fellowship training (complex general surgical oncology). Depending on the candidate's interest, there would be an opportunity to participate in system- and statewide research initiatives.
