The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery and Lung Transplantation at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Candidates must be board eligible/board certified and have completed or have completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the time of hire. Applicants' materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. This position will be based at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC) and will also have a joint paid appointment at UCSF.
Candidates should have a focus and experience in the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, including the development of advanced skills in robotic and minimally invasive coronary, valve, and aortic surgery. Experience in all-arterial coronary revascularization, including bilateral mammary arterial grafting; those committed to expanding minimally invasive approaches such as robotic or MICS-CABG, valve repair; and those interested in complex aortic procedures including the Ross operation and valve sparing root replacement are strongly preferred. Candidates who have a strong interest in building a translational research program are encouraged to apply.
This position at the SFVAMC will contribute to the continued growth of high-impact clinical programs complementing our established strengths in complex aortic surgery and Ross, minimally invasive aortic aneurysm repair or SAVR, structural heart therapies, and comprehensive all-arterial on- and off-pump CABG.
Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,900 - $319,800. This position includes membership in the [health sciences compensation plan](https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
