- General Surgery Resident
Description
The General Surgery Residency Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking qualified candidates for two PGY-4 categorical resident positions beginning July 1, 2026. Our program offers comprehensive surgical training across a diverse patient population, with exposure to a broad range of complex cases. Residents rotate through multiple clinical sites, including a high-volume Level I trauma center, and benefit from strong operative experience and academic support.
Requirements
Eligibility Requirements:
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency program through the PGY-3 level
- In good standing within current training program
- Eligible for a New York State medical license
- Strong clinical, academic, and interpersonal skills
- J-1 visa sponsorship only.
