Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician in Altoona, Pennsylvania - Block Scheduling

Cover two long weekends per month with consecutive block scheduling while focusing on bread-and-butter cardiac surgery cases across inpatient, operative, and clinic settings.

Practice & Cases

• Inpatient rounding, surgery, and clinic responsibilities
• Bread-and-butter cardiac cases including CABG, AVR, and MVR
• Dedicated TAVR and TAVR clinic responsibilities on Wednesdays
• Average of two admissions while on call

Schedule

• Thursday through Monday coverage blocks
• 24-hour call with onsite hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Typically 9-12 shifts per month
• Additional consecutive coverage available for PTO and holidays

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Active Pennsylvania license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact Letter of Qualification
• Board Certified in Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery
• ACLS, BLS, and DEA required

• Travel accommodations arranged for the assignment
