Seeking Experienced Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon (3+ years) with Leadership Interest
Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon: Arizona Advanced Surgery (AAS) is excited to invite a skilled and dedicated Trauma Surgeon to become a vital part of our prestigious team at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC), one of Arizona’s busiest and most renowned trauma centers. Located in the vibrant city of Mesa, Arizona, BDMC is a 669-bed state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital known for delivering exceptional care in trauma, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery. BDMC has state of the art Trauma Bays and a Dedicated Trauma OR and Orthopedic Surgery OR. We are a designated Arizona Level I and ACS-verified Level II Adult Trauma Center, as well as an ACS-verified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. Our programs see over 3500 trauma activations annually, including over 500 pediatric trauma activations in conjunction with our Pediatric Surgery team.
Our program: As a Trauma Surgeon with AAS, you will have the unique opportunity to focus on high-acuity trauma, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery. We are staffed with 7 full-time Trauma and Acute Care Surgeons and 10 dedicated Physician Assistants. In addition, you will work closely with General Surgery residents during EGS shifts, providing mentorship and shaping the next generation of surgeons in a dynamic hospital-based setting.
Position Overview: As part of the Trauma program at BDMC, the Trauma Surgeon will join a dynamic team, rotating between trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency general surgery services. The SICU includes patients from Trauma, EGS, and other surgical specialties. This role involves managing both adult and pediatric trauma cases, with a support team of physician assistants.

Qualifications: Applicants must be board eligible/certified in General Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Surgical Critical Care. We are seeking a candidate with 3 plus years clinical experience and leadership experience/aspirations. However, all qualified candidates welcome to apply.
