The Eye Care Institute is an eye care practice in Louisville, Kentucky with 3 ophthalmologists and 3 optometrists. We offer cataract surgery with premium lens implants, LASIK, vitreo-retinal treatment and surgery, SLT, DSEK, routine eye exams, contact lens exams, optical shops and more. With progressive doctors, management and staff our facilities, instrumentation and techniques are up-to-date. We use MedFlow electronic medical records with the Allscripts practice management system. Our new patients primarily come from satisfied patients, referring primary care physicians and our advertising and marketing efforts. We have created a happy, content atmosphere for our staff, doctors and patients. One of our many axiom is to always say "yes" unless we have good reason to say otherwise. We are also unique in our management style; while our doctors have interest in the health of our medical practice, our doctors typically leave the operations of the practice to the practice CEO and department supervisors.
Company History
Founded in 1983 as a retina practice, we have evolved to offer comprehensive ophthalmology, vitreo-retinal services, optometry and optical. We were one of the first private medical practices to develop a website; www.EyeCareInstitute.com was originally published in 2000. We have had many "firsts" or "seconds," especially involving FDA clinical trials or FDA surgical trials. We were the 2nd ophthalmology practice in the US to receive payment for successful use of electronic medical records under the Meaningful Use guidelines.
